Q: How many days and hours do I have to volunteer?
A: We ask that you work 4 days over the course of the championship.  This is divided in to approximately four 5-hour shifts.

Q: Can my children volunteer? Is there an age requirement?
A: Yes, children ages 13 years old to 17 years old can be a junior volunteer. We have two committees Standard Bearers and Championship Program Sales. For more information on Junior Volunteer positions, click here.

Q: What does the volunteer fee cover?
A: The fee covers the uniform (one shirt, one windbreaker, a hat/visor), a special volunteer pin, volunteer party, preferred parking, credential for the week and meals during shifts. In addition you will have a one time discount in the merchandise pavilion.  For more information, click here.

Q: If I am no longer able to volunteer, can I receive a refund?
A: Yes, you will be issued a refund if you cancel before April 1, 2010.

Q: Can I watch golf when I am not working?
A: Yes, your credential is valid for the entire week and we encourage you to do so.  Remember, with your volunteer credential you are able to bring kids 17 and under to the championship for FREE when you are not working.

Q: Can I take photographs or ask for autographs?
A: When you are not working (recommended: do not wear your volunteer uniform), you may use your camera during practice rounds (Monday - Wednesday) and ask for an autograph after the player's round.

Q: Where do I park when I am not working but want to attend?
A: Please park in the general public parking area when you are not scheduled to work.

Q: Can I be scheduled (shift assignments) at the same time as my spouse, friend, etc.?
A: We will make every effort to accommodate your scheduling requests. Make sure to list your request on your Availability Form that will be sent to you in January 2009.

Q: What if I can not attend the training session?
A: Please make every effort to attend training, however if you are unable, your committee chairman will provide you with the necessary information.

Q: How do I know my assignment?
A: We will send you a confirmation letter with your committee assignment within 30 days of receiving your application.

Q: How do I know my schedule? And when will I receive my schedule?
A: We ask you to help create your schedule and will send you an Availability Form to do so in February 2010. The form asks you to provide us your preferred days and times and will be used to create the master schedule for your committee. To ensure you receive your requested schedule, make sure to promptly complete and return the form.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The Championship will go on and we will need your help. Make sure to report to your committee's check-in location 15-20 minutes prior to your shift, rain or shine.

Q: When will I recieve my uniform?
A: Uniforms will be distibuted at Volunteer Training on July 10th and 17th.  If you are unable to attend Volunteer Training, your uniform will be available for pick up at the Volunteer Party on July 24th or prior to your first shift at Volunteer Headquarters. For those volunteers who live our of Washington, you will be notified if your uniform will be shipped to you. 

Q: What do I do if my uniform does not fit?
A: We will offer uniform exchange during Volunteer Training, the Volunteer Party, and Monday, July 26 - Wednesday, July 28 in Volunteer Headquarters.
